Digital innovators Startle International were among the biggest winners at this year’s UK Business Awards, leaving Wembley Stadium with a total of three ‘Don’ trophies.

The company is based in Surry and helps big name brands including Ramada International and BP achieve “higher customer spend through digital venue experiences”.

Staff arrived at London’s most iconic venue on November 22 to present to judges in four categories, and left their panels satisfied that they are among the most exciting firms in the UK today.

An employee-first culture helped cement a Gold win in the Best Place to Work category, pushing Wickes in partnership with Blue Sky Performance Improvement into second place as Silver runners-up.

Startle’s second Gold was in the Innovation – B2B category, where they knocked Digital Shadows into second place, while they just missed out on the Team of the Year title, coming second behind worthy rivals Language Empire Ltd.

Startle’s Marketing Manager Melanie Frazer-Reid said afterwards:

“We’re over the moon to have won in two great categories at the UK Business Awards, with both of these areas being very important to us as a business. Our success is a testament to the hard work that our team put in, and we’re incredibly proud of the dedication of every team member that has helped Startle get this far.”

Speaking of the work put in to achieving success in two of the most prominent UKBA categories, Melanie continued:

“Our awards entries and presentations focused on how our strong employee culture has enabled us to grow from a start-up business to an industry leader. Without this ’employee first’ way of operating, our growth as a business wouldn’t have been possible. We look forward to building on this success by continually innovating and cultivating a culture that delivers leading media and technology solutions for the retail, hospitality, and leisure industries.”
