How Did Ruby Wax Get An Obe

So, you're wondering how Ruby Wax, that hilarious and sharp-tongued comedian, managed to snag an OBE, huh? Well, grab a cuppa, get comfy, and let me spill the beans.

Who's Ruby Wax, you ask?

Alright, let's rewind a bit. Ruby Wax is a force to be reckoned with. She's a comedian, author, and mental health advocate. You might know her from her stand-up, her TV shows, or her hilarious one-liners. She's like that friend who always tells it like it is, but with a side of laughter.

Now, let's talk about that OBE. You know, that little medal that says, "Hey, you're pretty awesome!" But how did Ruby, with her quick wit and no-nonsense attitude, end up with one? Let's dive in.

From Comedy to Campaigning

Ruby's not just about the laughs. She's been using her comedy chops to raise awareness about mental health. She's been open about her own struggles with depression, and she's made it her mission to get people talking about it.

She's written books, done documentaries, and even got a degree in psychotherapy. She's like the ultimate multitasker - making us laugh while making us think. Pretty impressive, right?

Meeting the Queen

So, how does a comedian end up meeting the Queen? Well, it turns out, when you're making a real difference, people notice. Ruby was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2015 for her services to mental health.

But she didn't stop there. She kept up her campaigning, kept making us laugh, and kept being her amazing self. And then, in 2020, she was promoted to Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). That's like going from 'pretty good' to 'exceptionally good' in the Queen's book.

Ruby's Secret?

So, what's Ruby's secret? How did she go from comedian to mental health campaigner to OBE recipient? Well, it's simple, really. She's Ruby Wax. She's funny, she's fearless, and she's passionate about making a difference.

So there you have it. That's how Ruby Wax got an OBE. It's a tale of talent, passion, and making a difference. It's a reminder that we all have the power to make a mark, no matter what we do.
