I M Not Looking For New England

So, I've been seeing you around, huh? Let's grab a coffee, I've got something to get off my chest. You know how people are always like, "Oh, you should try New England, it's so quaint and charming"? Yeah, no. Not today, not ever. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love a good lobster roll as much as the next guy, but I'm just not feeling the whole New England vibe. Why? Let me spill the beans.

It's Cold. Like, Really Cold.

I mean, I get it, you're into the whole "four seasons" thing. But when the thermometer dips below zero and the snow is up to your eyeballs, I'm over here like, "No, thank you." I'm more of a "I'll just wear a light jacket and enjoy the breeze" kind of gal. Plus, have you seen the heating bills? Yikes!

Clam Chowder? More Like Clam Chillder.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good clam chowder. But when it's so cold that the chowder is basically a hot, soupy hug, I start to question my life choices. I mean, I could use a hug, but not one that's made of clams and cream. Pass the sunscreen, not the chowder, please.

Pumpkin Spice Everything? No, Thanks.

I get it, fall is cute and all. But when every single thing in the store is pumpkin spice flavored, I start to feel like I'm living in a real-life Halloween town. I mean, I'll take a pumpkin spice latte, sure. But pumpkin spice deodorant? Let's not get carried away, people.

Yankees vs. Red Sox? I'll Pass.

I get it, sports rivalries are a thing. But when it's this intense, I start to feel like I'm in the middle of a real-life "Friday Night Lights" drama. I mean, I'll cheer for a good game, but when it's a matter of life and death (or so it seems), I'm out. I'll just be over here, cheering for my team, whoever they are. (Just kidding, I don't really care about sports.)

But... The Fall Foliage, Though.

Okay, okay, I'll give you that one. The fall foliage is stunning. I mean, it's like Mother Nature went on a painting spree and decided to make the whole state her canvas. But even that can't make up for the fact that it's so cold, I can see my breath when I'm indoors. I mean, what's the point of beautiful leaves if I can't enjoy them without freezing my butt off?

So, there you have it. My confession, my rant, my "I'm just not that into you" moment with New England. I'm sure it's a great place, and I'm sure there are people who love it. But for me, I'll stick to my mild winters, my pumpkin spice in moderation, and my sports-agnostic lifestyle. Now, who's ready for a real hug? (Not a clam chowder one, though.)
