So, What's the Deal with "Thinking About You"?

If you've been living under a rock (or just not on TikTok), let me paint you a picture. Imagine a sweet, innocent-looking girl, maybe 12, maybe 14, with a face full of freckles and a gap-toothed grin. She's staring straight into the camera, and with a voice that's all sugar and spice, she says, "I'm thinking about you." Cue the dramatic music, and bam, the punchline hits. She's not thinking about you in the cute, crushy way you'd hope. Oh no, she's thinking about you because she's literally thinking about you, like, right now. It's hilarious, it's relatable, and it's taken the internet by storm.

Where Did This Meme Come From?

Now, you might be wondering, where on earth did this meme come from? Well, buckle up, 'cause it's a tale of two worlds. On one hand, you've got the wholesome, small-town vibes of the original video, posted by a girl named Kennedy on TikTok. On the other, you've got the chaotic, meme-loving hordes of the internet, who took that video and ran with it. Before Kennedy knew it, her sweet little video was a global phenomenon, spawning thousands of remakes, parodies, and even a few celebrity appearances. Talk about going viral!

But here's where it gets interesting. You see, Kennedy's video wasn't even the first of its kind. It was inspired by a similar video posted by a girl named Emma, who started the whole "I'm thinking about you" trend back in 2019. Talk about a meme coming full circle!

Why Does This Meme Resonate?

So, why is this meme so darn popular? Well, for starters, it's relatable. How many times have you been in the middle of a conversation, only to have your mind wander off to some random thought? We've all been there, and this meme nails that feeling perfectly. Plus, it's just plain funny. The contrast between the sweet, innocent delivery and the absurd punchline is comedy gold.
