London To Brighton Car Run 2025

So, grab your coffee, let's chat about this little gem in the 2025 calendar - the London to Brighton Car Run. You know, that quirky event that's been around since the dawn of time (okay, 1896, but who's counting?).

Now, you might be thinking, "What's so special about a bunch of old cars chugging their way from the big smoke to the seaside?" Well, let me tell you, my friend, it's not just any old car run. It's a blast from the past, a celebration of all things vintage, and a chance to see some seriously stunning motors.

Imagine this: you're standing on that start line in Hyde Park, the sun's peeking over the trees, and you're surrounded by a cacophony of engines - from the humble Model T to the sleek Bentleys. It's like a symphony of history, I tell ya!

But what's the deal with the 'Run' part?

Well, it's not a race in the traditional sense. No, this is more of a gentle cruise. The idea is to keep your speed under 20mph, just like the original 1896 event. It's all about the journey, not the destination. Plus, it gives you time to wave at the crowds and soak up the atmosphere.

And the route? It's a classic. Through the leafy lanes of Surrey, past the rolling hills of Sussex, and finally, that triumphant descent into Brighton. It's like a parade, a procession of automotive history.

But what about the cars?

Oh, the cars! You'll see everything from early horseless carriages to vintage sports cars. There are categories for pre-1905, pre-1916, pre-1931, and pre-1967 vehicles. It's like a who's who of motoring history. And the best part? You don't need a millionaire's bank account to join in. Sure, some of these beauties are worth a pretty penny, but there are plenty of enthusiasts who've restored their own cars with love and elbow grease.
