When Does London Marathon 2027 Ballot Open

Alright, folks, let's talk London Marathon 2027. You know how it is, you're minding your own business, sipping your coffee, and suddenly, BAM! You're hit with the urge to lace up those trainers and conquer the streets of London. Well, hold onto your running caps, because the ballot for the 2027 marathon is opening soon, and you don't want to miss it.

When's the Big Day?

Now, I know what you're thinking, "When does this magical marathon ballot open, oh wise one?" Well, grab your calendars, because it's happening in May 2026. Yes, you heard it here first. Mark it down, circle it, write 'Marathon Ballot' in your fancy handwriting, and stick a little smiley face next to it. You know, just to make it extra special.

But wait, you might be wondering, "Why so early?" Well, imagine the London Marathon is like your favorite TV show. You know, the one you've been waiting for all year. The marathon organizers are like the TV network, and the ballot opening is like the release of the new season's trailer. They want to give you plenty of time to get excited, plan your training, and maybe even start a little savings jar for those post-run celebratory pints.

How Long's the Wait?

So, you've marked your calendar, you're all excited, but now you're thinking, "How long do I have to wait after the ballot opens?" Well, the ballot will be open for a couple of weeks. Think of it like a really long, really important job interview. You've got your application in, now you just have to wait for the call back. In this case, the 'call back' is the email telling you if you've got a place in the marathon. That should be around October 2026.
