Is Tesco Express Open On Boxing Day

So, there I was, Christmas Day done and dusted, turkey sandwiches made, and suddenly, I've got this craving for some Quality Street. You know the ones, the toffees that stick to your teeth like they're on a mission to test your dental work. But it's Christmas Day, and I've got a sneaky suspicion that Tesco Express isn't going to be open for my late-night sweet fix. Let's find out, shall we?

Boxing Day: The Day After

Boxing Day, the day after Christmas, is a bit of a weird one, isn't it? It's like the anti-climax of the festive season. All the presents are opened, the turkey's been eaten, and now we're all left with a fridge full of leftovers and a house full of relatives. But what if you've got a sudden urge for something that's not in your fridge? Like, say, a pint of milk for your Christmas pudding leftovers? Or, ahem, some Quality Street?

Tesco Express: The Lifesaver

Enter Tesco Express, the lifesaver of the late-night snack emergency. But will it be open on Boxing Day? That's the million-dollar question. I mean, it's not like they're going to leave us high and dry, is it? Not when we've got all those Quality Street to eat.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "Why not just check their website?" Well, because where's the fun in that? Plus, I've got a sneaky suspicion that their website might not be updated with the Boxing Day opening hours. So, let's do a bit of detective work, shall we?

Checking the Facts

First things first, let's check Tesco's official stance on public holidays. According to their website, most stores are open on Boxing Day, but their hours might be reduced. Now, I know what you're thinking. "That's not very helpful, is it?" No, it's not. But it's a start.

Next, let's check the Tesco Express app. I know, I know, I said I wasn't going to do this, but bear with me. The app says that my local Tesco Express is open from 8 am to 10 pm on Boxing Day. Now we're getting somewhere!

But Wait, There's More

But hold your horses, because I've just remembered something. Last year, my local Tesco Express was open on Boxing Day, but it closed at 6 pm. So, I've got a feeling that the app might not be 100% reliable. I mean, it's not like they're going to send out a press release every time they change their opening hours, is it?

So, what's a girl to do? Well, I've got a cunning plan. I'm going to call my local Tesco Express and ask them. I know, I know, it's not the most high-tech solution, but it's the most reliable. And besides, it's not like I've got anything better to do on Boxing Day, have I?

The Verdict

And there you have it, folks. After a quick call to my local Tesco Express, I can confirm that yes, it will be open on Boxing Day. But, and this is a big but, it will close at 6 pm. So, if you're planning a late-night Quality Street binge, you might want to rethink your strategy.

But hey, at least we know we can get our hands on some milk for those Christmas pudding leftovers. And isn't that what Boxing Day is all about? Not the presents, not the turkey, but the leftovers. Happy Boxing Day, everyone!
