Matt Delivered His Baby After A Panicked Midwife Left

So, there I was, minding my own business, when my friend Matt walks in, beaming like he's just won the lottery. I thought to myself, "Uh-oh, what's he done now?" Turns out, he'd just become a dad. Again. But this time, it wasn't your average stork story. No, Matt had a little help from... himself.

When Plans Go Out the Window

Matt and his partner had everything planned out. They'd hired a midwife, packed their bags, and even picked out a name for the little one. But as any parent-to-be knows, plans are made to be changed. Their midwife, in a turn of events that could give a soap opera a run for its money, up and left. Just like that. No explanation, no backup plan. Just... gone.

Now, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that's not how it's supposed to go. I mean, what do you do when your midwife vanishes into thin air? Call a plumber? A mechanic? The Ghostbusters?

Enter: Matt, The Unexpected Midwife

With no time to lose, Matt and his partner sprang into action. They called the hospital, but with traffic the way it was, they'd never make it in time. So, Matt did what any reasonable person would do in his situation. He rolled up his sleeves and said, "Alright, let's have this baby."

And that's exactly what he did. With a little help from some YouTube videos (yes, really) and a lot of determination, Matt delivered his baby right there in their living room. I mean, talk about a home birth!

Side Note: Don't Try This At Home (Unless You Have To)

Now, before you all go running to the internet to learn how to deliver a baby, let me just say, please, if you can get to a hospital, do it. Matt's situation was... unique. But if you're reading this and you're about to pop, trust me, you want professionals around. Matt was just in a pinch.

And They All Lived Happily Ever After

So, there you have it. Matt's little bundle of joy arrived safe and sound, with a story that'll be told for generations. And Matt? Well, he's a dad again, with a newfound respect for midwives (and maybe a few new gray hairs).

As for the midwife? Last I heard, she's still MIA. But hey, maybe she's out there, helping some other unsuspecting couple become parents. In a hospital. With actual professionals. You know, like it's supposed to happen.

And that, my friends, is why you should always have a backup plan. Or at least, know how to work a smartphone in a pinch. Just in case.
