We at Powwownow set out to find the best remote working spots in the whole of London – but how did we do it and what kind of results did we achieve? Well, that’s what we’re here to explain!
With an emphasis firmly set on research – we didn’t just rely on our own opinions here – we gave the Twitter users in the capital the chance to tell us their favourite places to work when not in the office.
On the whole, the ideal accompaniments to a comfy setting and some secure Wi-Fi were a good old fashioned pot of tea and a slice of cake – that’s probably why so many people recommended cafés to us.
However, the real surprise was that co-working stations came out as the second most popular destination thanks to their unique and versatile offering, coupled with their innovative working spaces which are designed to keep workers engaged and productive.
Out and about
While we naturally treasure the opinions of the Twitter users who kindly sent us their recommendations, we wanted to go and check out these innovative co-working stations for ourselves to find out a bit more about their unique offerings.
Home to a real mix of old and young people in a variety of industries, we discovered that remote working is adopted by people in all walks of life. In our opinion, The Peckham Pelican said it best:

A quick cup of coffee
As the heading suggests, we were lucky enough to be invited along to the Coffee Stop Awards – a place where the very best cafés for remote working are celebrated for being a haven of secure Wi-Fi and friendly staff, as well as a whole lot more.
The awards were created by Chris Ward, a one-time PR boss who champions a bit of out-of-office working more than almost any other. Leaving no mug unturned in his quest to find the best cafés around, the awards are given out over a number of different categories.
We interviewed the winners of the prestigious title of UK’s Best Coffee Shop – Four Corners, who described their space as “a great place to kick off a brainstorm”, attracting the likes of “designers, entrepreneurs and even NHS staff” through their doors.

To thoroughly tap into the rising popularity of remote working – a subject that is very close to our hearts, we created the Smarter Working Guide to London.
