Amplitude has unveiled Guides and Surveys, a new suite of tools designed to improve user onboarding and engagement—without the frustration of intrusive popups. Through AI-driven targeting and “annoyance monitoring,” the digital analytics company promises to make in-product guidance more personalised, timely, and effective.
Unlike traditional approaches, Amplitude’s Guides and Surveys are informed by behavioural insights, ensuring that messages appear when they’re most relevant rather than disrupting the user experience. The tools offer a range of engagement formats, including interactive product tours, announcements, tooltips, banners, checklists, and real-time feedback surveys.
This launch follows Amplitude’s acquisition of Command AI four months ago, integrating the startup’s digital adoption capabilities into its platform. Now, companies can not only analyse user behaviour but also act on it, helping teams drive feature adoption, improve onboarding, and optimise product communications without eroding customer trust.
Francois Ajenstat, chief product officer at Amplitude, said: “Popups have a bad reputation for being annoying, intrusive, and irrelevant, and consumers close them as quickly as possible. That’s why Amplitude is taking a different approach, using existing behavioural data to provide personalised guidance, prompts, and surveys that actually improve retention, drive engagement, and help users be more successful. And by fully integrating Guides and Surveys into our platform, Amplitude becomes the one-stop platform where digital teams can take action on the data that matters most.”
Available as part of Amplitude’s growth and enterprise bundles or as an add-on for Plus customers, Guides and Surveys join the company’s expanding lineup of AI-powered analytics, experimentation, and activation tools.
