Emirates NBD cuts tariffs on SmartTrade platform

Gulf Customer Experience Awards winner Emirates NBD is reducing bank tariffs for transactions made over their smart platform

Dubai’s biggest bank has introduced new measures in order to support UAE businesses in agreement with recent banking initiatives.

Emirates NBD will reduce fees for transactions initiated over their SmartTrade platform for the next three months, thus reducing the need for physical visits.

Clients will also be offered new activation on the platform free of charge over the following three months.

An Emirates NBD spokesperson said: “Financial institutions are expected to implement measures such as rescheduling of loans contracts, granting temporary deferrals on monthly loan payments, and reducing fees and commissions for affected customers.”

WHO urges countries to ‘pull out all the stops’ to fight COVID-19

With the total number of global coronavirus cases close to almost 100,000, with over 3,000 reported deaths, countries’ efforts to shield from the outbreak must be increased, the World Health Organisation has warned..

A travel ban has been urged in the UAE, while Iran remains the centre of the coronavirus crisis in the Middle East, recording over 3,500 cases.

“This is not a drill,” said Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organisation.

“This is not a time for excuses. This is a time for pulling out all the stops.”

Turkish Airlines signs Nigerian Aviation cargo pact

Turkish Airlines has signed a long-term cargo-handling pact with the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO), ensuring trust between the firms.

Part of the handling contract includes NAHCO ground handling all Turkish passengers and cargo flights across all Turkish locations in Nigeria.
