The UK’s Armed Forces Recruiting Service is set to undergo a major digital transformation, with Pegasystems selected to provide the technology behind a new tri-service recruitment platform. Under the Prime Contract awarded to Serco Plc, Pega will be part of Team Serco, delivering a unified digital system for the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Air Force (RAF).

Building on its existing work with the Royal Navy and RAF, Pega’s platform will bring all three services under one streamlined digital recruitment process. The system aims to improve candidate engagement, accelerate assessments, and align with the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) long-term workforce goals.

Alan Trefler, founder and CEO, Pega, said: “Pega delivering this strategically important digital capability for the UK’s Armed Forces builds upon our established partnership with the UK Ministry of Defence. The Pega Platform will directly support the achievement of military recruiting targets across defence – a critical component of national security objectives. Our proven experience in this sector positions us to address the complex challenges of military recruitment, to meet the specific requirements of each service branch.”

Pega’s technology will integrate customer service tools, workflow automation, and AI-powered decision-making, including the use of Pega GenAI Blueprint for rapid application development. This will enable the recruiting service to quickly adapt to evolving demands while maintaining consistency across all branches.

The Armed Forces Recruiting Service (AFRS), a collaboration between the MOD and Team Serco, is responsible for bringing in both regular and reserve forces. By digitising and unifying recruitment, the new platform is expected to enhance efficiency and improve the candidate experience from initial inquiry through to enlistment and basic training.
