WeWalk has picked up a King’s Award for Enterprise for its cutting-edge ‘smart cane’ product. The smart cane, which integrates with Google Maps to offer visually impaired people direction assistance, also won a gold award at the recent 2024 Turkiye Customer Experience Awards.
Gokhan Mericliler, WeWalk’s CEO, remarked, “The King seemed impressed by the voice assisted aspect, being about to talk to the cane, its interactive element, that excited him the most.“
The King’s Award is one of the most distinguished business accolades in the UK.
Firms that win the award may use its emblem for its marketing activities for the next five years. Eligibility for the award requires being based in the UK, demonstrating strong environmental, social and governance practices, and a few more business requirements.
Among the guests at this event was the recently appointed business secretary, Jonathan Reynolds. The King pointed out to Reynolds who we regarded as those businesses that “represent the best of British”.
The innovation of the WeWalk product that gained them royal acknowledgement and business award success is the smart walking stick. The cane provides revolutionary assistance for vulnerable customers, utilising the most up-to-date technology. Connecting to your phone, the stick can give directions, indicate when nearby obstacles are sensed, and even provide useful information about points of interest.
