According to a survey from Freshworks, nearly 45% of UK workers would consider switching jobs for roles that better integrate AI. The findings reveal that employees are not just adopting AI but actively seeking more ways to leverage it. As many as 35% of UK workers have already received a salary increase or promotion due to their use of AI in the workplace.

As employees embrace AI’s capabilities, 50% reported a more positive view of AI since the beginning of 2024, with many attributing their shift in perspective to a deeper understanding of AI and its role in their work. 37% of UK employees stated that without AI, they would struggle to keep up with their workload.

AI is delivering tangible benefits for workers, particularly regarding time management. As many as 98% of employees utilising AI reported that it freed up significant workday time. They’re using that extra time to boost productivity (72%), tackle more creative or complex tasks (62%), or mentor colleagues (64%). This surge in efficiency has led 92% of employees globally to express a desire to delegate more tasks to AI.

For businesses, these benefits translate into tangible results, as 61% of business leaders have seen increased AI adoption in the past six months, with 54% planning further expansion in 2025. With AI taking over routine tasks, employees can focus on more strategic activities, driving growth and success for their organizations. 56% of workers believe their departments are more successful due to AI integration.

In addition, the demand for AI in the workplace is so strong that workers are willing to give up certain perks to keep it. 37% of employees revealed they would trade remote work, while 40% would do without company holiday parties to ensure they can access AI in their jobs.
