A recent survey by Personio reveals that nearly half of UK employers (49%) anticipate a surge in employee turnover within the following year.
Additionally, six in ten businesses reported a decline in staff engagement, suggesting that the “big stay” period of low turnover and vacancies may end as the economy continues to rebound.
A recent study by recruitment firm Robert Walters indicates that concerns about job security are deterring many professionals from seeking new employment opportunities.
Over 70% of workers surveyed expressed hesitation about moving jobs due to fears of instability in a new role.
“These latest figures make clear that there is still a lot of uncertainty around what the job market will look like over the coming year, but the market is already showing some signs that attrition levels will rise again,” said Becky Wallace, head of people at Learn Upon.
She also added “Whilst the ‘big stay’ has been a huge win for HR leaders, who have been working hard to retain staff following years of increased attrition, it has never meant that they were able to take their staff for granted.
Even when employees are staying put, it is vital that they are given proper support from their organisation that keeps them engaged, satisfied and productive.
