Video conferencing platform Zoom has announced the public beta of smart name tags, a new feature designed to enhance inclusivity and engagement in Zoom Meetings.
These tags work with AI to pick up and apply names to multiple participants in one screen. This will make it easier for virtual participants to know who is in the room and create a more connected and seamless meeting experience.
Individuals can manually add their name tags during meetings, or choose to opt in for automatic recognition.
The introduction of these smart name tags will revolutionise flexible workspaces and foster a more engaging and collaborative environment.
These smart name tags also aim to make virtual communication more personal and inclusive. Remote and in-person meeting attendees will now be able to feel more connected by understanding exactly who is in the meeting with them.
This will be particularly beneficial when team members are meeting for the first time, or external parties are present, as participants will be able to quickly connect and understand each other better.
This is the latest innovation from Zoom to enhance flexible working environments, in light of research that 95% of business leaders saying their organisation has become more flexible over the past two years — and 82% planning to make their organisation more flexible over the next two years.
