The inaugural edition of the European Customer Experience Awards, organised by Awards International, announced the winners for this year’s programme. The first edition of European CXA® brought together leading businesses across Europe to share remarkable achievements in customer experience. Top companies and organisations participated in this premium programme, competing for the most coveted accolades in customer experience.  

Rundown of the event

ECXATM ’22 Awards Finals and Ceremony were held live online on June 16, 2022. In the morning, the finalists presented their initiatives in front of the judging panel for each category. After which, the judges scored them and submitted the results. It was a successful year for the inaugural ECXATM – 30 companies from 25 countries competed in the finals. This was across 14 categories, with close to 60 presentations. 

In the morning, attendees and finalists had the opportunity to tune in to a CXCoffeeTM session. Bayo Igoh, Director of BigohCoaching, and special guest, Gregorio Uglioni CCXP hosted the session. They discussed the state of customer experience and the importance of recognition at the awards. They followed up with an overview of the day’s agenda.

Afterwards, the presentations started. Once the judges completed their scoring, it was time for the long-anticipated Awards Ceremony! 

Ceremony highlights

In the build-up to the Ceremony, the CXTrendTalksTM panel discussion focused on “Improving the customer journey to increase retention”. Emma Dark, CCXP, Director of Consumer Care UK & IRE of The Estée Lauder Companies Inc lead this; joined by an esteemed panel of CX professionals.  

Later, Awards International’s COO, Ivana Kircanski, joined with a few words of welcome and encouragement for the Finalists. Alison Wallace from the charity partner, SOS Children’s Villages International, reminded guests of the importance of donating to support Ukrainian children suffering in the war crisis. 

Ian Golding, CCXP, skilfully navigated the guests throughout the event, making the guests feel relaxed and comfortable. At midway, Nate Brown, Senior Director of Customer Experience at Arise Virtual Solutions Inc, delivered an inspiring keynote speech. He spoke on the topic of “Capturing the loyalty of the modern customer”. This speech really brought a smile to everyone’s faces with Nate’s unique charm.  

Finally, it was time for the most exciting moment of the entire programme – announcing the OVERALL WINNER of the inaugural ECXATM. This is the company with the highest score across all categories. Awards International’s Founder and CEO Neil Skehel connected live against the picturesque background of Belgrade’s night sky. He announced the Overall Winner as Brentagg.
