Hilton, Softcat, and Bristol Myers Squibb have been named Best Workplaces for Women 2024 in the UK.
Global workplace culture firm Great Place produced the list and used its trust index employee survey and analysed the responses of more than 80,000 UK-based female workers. It found that companies with high female employee satisfaction prioritise fair pay, benefits, work-life balance, and career growth opportunities.
The research also highlighted women are less likely to feel recognised for their work than men. However, 83% of women at top UK workplaces feel fairly paid.
“For seven years, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women List has been paving the way by tackling discrimination, removing barriers to women’s advancement in their careers, and challenging taboos around subjects like menopause and endometriosis.” – says Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place To Work UK.
Traditionally, IT & tech, hospitality, and pharmaceuticals have been male-dominated fields. However, the landscape is changing, and while these industries still have a higher percentage of male employees, significant progress has been made in recent years towards gender equality.
This trend indicates a growing awareness of the importance of equality as companies with high female employee satisfaction are leading the way in creating equitable workplaces.
